Webroot spy sweeper + windows live onecare?

i have windows vista on a new laptop, and i was wondering if webroot spysweeper would end up neutralizing the other virus protection i currently have running- windows live onecare. so i am curious if it is safe and effective to have webroot spysweeper and windows live onecare working together at the same time?

Windows One Care includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall as well as a back-up utility and tune-up utilities. It is a fairly decent all-in-one package, it it should serve you pretty well.

Webroot SpySweeper is an anti-spyware, not an anti-virus.

I suggest that you disable SpySweeper's real time, resident protection to prevent any possible conflicts with OneCare. Don't uninstall SpySweeper however, keep it for use as an on-demand anti-spyware only. And do an occasional full system scan with it. Webroot has some of the best spyware detection, and it will probably pick up some harmless tracking cookies then OneCare can't detect.

You only need the firewall that is included with OneCare. IIRC, OneCare will automatically disable Windows Firewall when you install it.

Good luck.
never use live onecare, sure its simple but it doesnt really work.

every review I have seen is either negative or mediocre.
onecare is for internet security, spyware, browser hijackers, adware so it would be pointless running spysweeper, please NOTE onecare is not an antivirus so install AVG antivirus, get it here, its free

Nope, it won't neutralize another virus program or protection. As long as you run them one at a time, then you're ok. I run 5 antivirus programs separately. Nortons, Mcaffee, Bit defender, and a few other rootkit removers.
