There is no such thing as best computer protection. The Anti-virus and spyware tools help you to protect but does not always guarantee 100% protection. To protect your computer:

- Do not install any freeware / application which are not tested.

- Do not visits sites that have intentions of installing unwanted tools

- Run Anti-virus scan atleast weekly using a updated tool.

go to www.kubuntu.com. There's a good protection tool. It's a bootable CD image that you'll need to burn to a CD, then you'll need to back your data up, boot from the CD, click on the install icon and follow the instructions in the wizard that appears. And that's it, after rebooting you'll have a very secure computer.
