I have porn popping up on my yahoo home page. When I run the scarn through Avast it comes up with 5500 files that were unable to be scanned. One reason was password protected and when I look at the name of the files there is no password protection on them. Should I uninstall Avast and install Norton again. I used to have Norton but it slowed my computer down quite a bit.

Oh, what a mess! I would encourage that you make the switch to Linux. Linux is a different operating system, that is built better than Microsoft Windows and cannot get infected with viruses or malware. The best thing is that it's totally free of cost. I would suggest that you get Ubuntu, the distribution that I believe to be the simplest and easiest.

It sounds like you have downloaded a rogue malware program. It will take a specialized program to remove this infection.
Simply uninstalling the program will probably still leave the computer infected.
