Help with virus?!!?

I downloaded this like adobe or quicktime player to view a video on the computer and now i am getting popups to download spyware protection and popups that say i am infected with a back foor trojan and some of the words are mispelled! so i know its not from my computer. help me what do i do?

ANTI-VIRUS

Honey get a good anti-virus like Norton 07 or a free trial antivirus which i think you will be able to download from the Norton site also. Or get any other brand you want go to the site www.google.com and type free antivirus software. A lot of options should come up. Install one of those and hopefully this virus will be deleted. But it is never wise to surf the net without an anti-virus.so don't do it.
