Security centre windows auto updates off cant get them on?

please help on windows security centre Auto updates off and cant get them on also virus protection off and wont let me update new avg, just seems to bloke everything when I try to update, have tried all that I know of to do,,,,need help......

for auto updates:

open run from start menu and type the following in it:

wuaucpl.cpl

and click on circle next to automatic

and as for your virus protector:

e-mail me the message that is printed next to it in security centre(e.g. not monitored) manan_b_shah@yahoo.co.in
