The little yellow security lock is no longer displaying in my lower right-hand corner of my computer

... Normally, the lock appears if I were to order something or enter personal info, but it no longer does. Luckily, I never have entered anything of substance. And, I have virus protection. But, is this a serious problem on my computer? Is there anything I can do to get the lock to appear again?

It only appears on secure websites. Look for https in the address bar instead of just the http you usually see. That is Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure.

If you have internet explorer-7, the lock will appear at the top of the page..The answer above me, is correct. You will have https, at the beginning of the websites address..good luck..
