hi..i just got a new pc and with vista...i am online alot and play wow alot so i need a program for protecting me from virus/spyware/malware and it should have a good firewall so what should i buy? i want to buy norton but wanted some advice so....

there is nothing gonna keep a MS OS safe free linux operating systems are the smart choice they are just week on the game end
you should get CCleaner. (yes, double C).... ccleaner deletes all recycle bin files and temporary internet files which is where some internet viruses and browser hi-jacks are.
Spyware Doctor. This is the most reliable program i have ever used. deletes all the spyware and harmfull files when you go online so you will be one step ahead of the spyware and you can delete it. also gives details about where you shouldnt go on the internet and tells you about fake reg cleaners and virus removers.
RegistryFix. This basically is very good and deletes crap that you get when going online...makes computer much faster for a good nice fast clean performance when going online to play.
ZoneAlarm has a free firewall.

You can also try Spybot Search and Destroy.
There are a few problems.
1) Virii, spywares and similar bugs invent new ways to penetrate your system.
2) You could easily let one through the firewall because you are enticed by some possible benefit.
I don't know about playing Wow. Is that some form of 2-person game that uses a peer-to-peer connection?
After you scan with Spybot let us know if it finds problems that it can't fix.
