Computer protection?

i know this sounds like a dumb question, but other than anti-virus and anti-spyware, what else should i use to protect my computer?

I'm kind of picky when it comes to keeping my pc in top shape...

oh, and I have vista.. if you have vista too, I would recomend going to this link, its a good place to start turning off unneeded services. just click the "reg" link next to the setup of your choice.

As stated above, firefox offers much greater protection against online threats than internet explorer. In addition it's free and is better than internet explorer to use anyway.
