Memory Very Low! Disk Clean Up Every 5 Minutes!?

I have an acer 3100 laptop. for the past couple of months ive been getting a message saying that i have very low memory. not virtual memory. just disk space memory. at first it was every other week, then it was every other day now its every 5 to 10 minutes probably. and it gets very annoying. i have done disk clean up everytime it says it ive done disk defragments evry other week. i have deleted un-used programs. maybe all of my programs use up very little memory and i also have a viruses protection system that does take much space up but i have no viruses. so whats the problem? who ever can help i will appreciate it a ton!

THANK YOU

You can prevent XP from warning you that the computer is low on disk space by editing the registry.

Open the Registry Editor.

Expand the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \Explorer.

Double click the NoLowDiskSpaceChecks value. If the value is not present, you will have to create a new DWORD value.

Type in a value of 1.

Close the Registry Editor.

Memory Very Low! Disk Clean Up Every 5 Minutes!?best antivirus software

Okay, then you've been infested with mal-ware or spy ware. Look up other answers and find one that identifies free spyware software and use that to scan and clean your computer.
your hard drive is low on free space. all you need to do is go to the control panel and then add or remove programs. then remove anything you don't need. you can check how much room is on you hard drive by right clicking on start, selecting explore, then when the page opens, right click on c: or your primary (first) hard drive under my computer and selecting properties. if all else ails, transfer all files to a external disk, then get a larger hard drive from bestbuy or officemax or staples and reinstall an operating system (bestbuys geek squad can help) and then putting the backed up files onto the new drive. if all else fails, buy a new computer and get new stuff
defrag
I have a HP Pavilions dv6000 with Windows Vista, and mine is doing the same thing. Wonder if it's a virus? I'll try to defrag, but I did do that before and it's still doing it. I'll try again. Hope we can get an answer.
First off, you might have too many things starting up and staying resident when you start your computer. Of course, there are other things that could be causing this, including a corrupt registry, or fragmented disk. A good program I use is available for a 30 day free trial. You might want to check it out. Here's the link for download (it's completely spyware free).
