Hello all...I would like to know how to get rid of those annoying spyware, adware, that mess your p.c up. I do have a virus protection (norton 360 all-in-one) that i have ran but to no avail. I was told that these spyware always hide in the system, unless ur a techie it's hard to remove them. I really dont wanna pay, because i would love to gain the knowledge. Oh yes am running windows xp on my hp notebook. Please help. Thanx!.

Contrary to some opinions, no single security suite can catch every spyware threat, and Norton is no exception to this rule. If you have an infection you can't get rid of, here is your best course of action:
1) remove the hard drive from your PC. Place it in an external enclosure, then connect it to another computer. Scan it from this computer for viruses and spyware - if your scannin g software does not find anything, use housecall.trendmicro.com to scan your system.
2) Backup ONLY your user data from the drive, then put the drive back in the first PC.
3) Boot from your Windows XP CD, delete and recreate the partition, then format it and install XP. Do this without an internet connection.
4) Once XP is installed, install your security software.
5) Go online, update your security software, update Windows, then restore your data.
